Police detain one, question several, in Larissa bank robbery

Police on Friday detained one person and were questioning several witnesses to Thursday’s bank robbery in Larissa, central Greece, which led to thieves making off with about 1 million euros.

Officers took in for questioning a man they believe to be a relative of one of the men involved in the robbery after he failed to cooperate with them.

It is thought that at least three men were involved in the robbery. Two armed robbers entered the bank and one man kept watch outside.

The robbers did not cover their faces and police believe one of the suspects is Klement Kala, one of the convicts who escaped from Trikala prison last month.
