Daughter rapist confesses, is remanded in pretrial custody
A 46-year-old Albanian man who is accused of repeatedly raping his 16-year-old daughter over the course of a decade was remanded in pretrial custody by a Thessaloniki prosecutor on Saturday.
According to sources, the suspect confessed to raping his daughter and said that he had a drinking problem.
He allegedly told the prosecutor that he would molest his daughter while his wife was out at work.
The unemployed 46-year-old was arrested in the village where he lives outside Thessaloniki last week after the teenager’s aunt thwarted her attempt to commit suicide by slitting her wrists.
The 16-year-old is also said to have written a note that said, “I didn’t want him as a father; I couldn’t take anymore.”
