Trial of Rendi police chief postponed to October
The trial of the head of the police precinct in Rendi, southern Athens, on Wednesday was postponed to October 10. The unnamed police chief is facing charges for allegedly robbing and blackmailing a Pakistani store owner, as well as getting him arrested on bogus drug charges.
Imtiaz Alam Jafari filed a complaint in February claiming that the police chief had robbed him of 4,000 euros. He subsequently claimed that he received several threats by phone for him to withdraw the complaint.
