Drasi set to hold party conference

Pro-business Drasi is holding its party conference in Athens this weekend with the aim of refreshing its reformist agenda.

The party, which gained 1.8 percent of the vote in last May’s national elections and 1.6 as part of an alliance with Recreate Greece in the ensuing June ballot, invited “all progressive citizens, center-leftists, center-rightists, social democrats, liberals, modernizers and realists” to join the discussion.

Belgian politician Guy Verhofstadt, who leads the group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the European Parliament, will speak at the conference, as will party president Antypas Karipoglou, vice president Antigoni Liberaki, MEP Theodoros Skylakakis and former leader and Economy Minister Stefanos Manos (photo).
