Preparations for a Greek-Israeli high-level ministerial council will be at the center of Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos’s visit to Israel next week. Avramopoulos is due to arrive in Israel on Wednesday, May 29, and will be received by Israeli President Shimon Peres. He will hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Sources said that Avramopoulos will also discuss with Israeli authorities a possible visit in the future by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
Avramopoulos will also visit the Palestinian Authority headquarters in Ramallah, where he will meet President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.
