Greek Parliament votes against lifting MP’s immunity
Parliament decided on Wednesday not to lift the immunity of New Democracy MP Adonis Georgiadis after he was sued by the head of the ESIEA journalists’ union, Dimitris Trimis.
The latter took legal action after Georgiadis referred to him as the “leader of the hoodies.”
The MP said that under Article 61 of the constitution, lawmakers cannot be prosecuted for expressing an opinion.
