Albanian fugitive convict caught in Athens
A 56-year-old Albanian national being sought on an international arrest warrant for the past 16 years was arrested on Friday in Moschato, southern Athens, police said.
The suspect, who was not named, was being sought by Albanian and international authorities after shooting dead and robbing an Albanian police officer in 1992. He was subsequently jailed for the crime but escaped in 1997 and had been at large since then.
The 56-year-old was to face a Greek prosecutor on Friday,
