Supermarket owner faces felony charges for knockoff detergents

Charges against the owner of a supermarket chain in northern Greece were on Friday increased from misdemeanor to felony over the suspected manufacture and sale of knockoff household detergents.

The 52-year-old was arrested on Thursday after his two warehouses were raided and police discovered evidence that detergents were being produced illegally.

On Friday, a truck was found hidden close to the warehouses containing more than 1,000 containers of bogus detergent.

Two other men, aged 33 and 45, have also been arrested in connection to the case.
