Turkish groups to hold solidarity rally at embassy in Athens
Turkish and Kurdish organizations are to organize a rally outside the Turkish Embassy in Athens on Monday at 5 p.m. in solidarity with demonstrators in Istanbul and other Turkish cities who have been clashing with police over the past few days in protest at the policies of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Police units are to be stationed near the embassy, on the junction of Vassilissis Sofias and Rigillis Streets, to ensure the rally remains peaceful.
On Sunday, a solidarity rally was held in Thessaloniki with the participation of local groups and Turkish students based in the northern port.
