Police says suspect confessed to double homicide in Evia

A 23-year-old Pakistani national is said to have confessed on Monday to the double murder of a married couple in Evia on Saturday, according to police.

The man allegedly told investigators that his motive for breaking into their holiday home in rural Aliveri was robbery and admitted to knowing the couple as he had done some gardening work for them in the past.

The suspect allegedly said that he beat the 54-year-old woman, who was found dead in the garden, with a cement block.

He then allegedly entered the home and beat the 56-year-old man with a collapsible baton while he was lying in bed and strangled him.
