Cigarette smugglers arrested in Serres
Police officers in Serres, northern Greece, arrested on Wednesday four people over charges of smuggling some 50,000 packets of undeclared cigarettes.
The men, aged 26, 27 49 and 54, were detected by police officers in a forest area in the village of Karydochori, where a 40-year-old man, who was being sought by police, was allegedly set to purchase the cigarettes.
According to reports the loss in state revenues was estimated at 161,294 euros.
