Ten Attica cabbies arrested for rigging registers, fixing meters

Ten taxi drivers have been arrested in Attica for tampering with their meters and cash registers, authorities said on Friday.

Seven of the cabbies had rigged their registers so they could not issue receipts, while three had interfered with their meters so they could overcharge customers.

The arrests were made at the Kiffissos intercity bus station, at the port of Piraeus and other parts of Athens.
