Greek hospital workers to strike Thursday over gov’t measures
Employees at public hospitals will stage a work stoppage between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday to protest plans to transfer some 1,500 healthcare workers and turn at least six hospitals in Attica into health centers.
The workers plan to protest in front of the Health Ministry at 11.30 a.m.
The hospital employees’ union, POEDIN, accused Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis of “setting fire to public hospitals and dancing on their ashes with crocodile tears in his eyes.”
