City of Athens opens seven locations to help public battle heat
The City of Athens on Tuesday opened seven of its departments around the Greek capital offering air-conditioned spaces to citizens who are at high risk of heat stroke as temperatures soared to 40 degrees Celsius.
The areas will be accessible until 8 p.m. and are open to all members of the public.
They are located at the following addresses: Mamouri & Dymis streets in Aghios Pavlos; 26-28 Drakou in Koukaki; 15 Heldreich in Neos Cosmos; 4 Athinodorou in Kato Petralona; 9 Emonos in Kolokynthou; 372 Acharnon in Aghios Eleftherios and on the corner of Vafeos and Panormou in Ambelokipi.
Temperatures are expected to begin abating on Wednesday.
