Turkish jets fly over eastern Aegean
Turkish fighter jets flew over the Fournoi islands in the eastern Aegean on Wednesday, according to the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA).
Four planes, two F-4s and two F-16s, entered Greek national air space at 11.02 a.m. between the islands of Samos and Chios.
The jets left Greek air space at 11.23 a.m., GEETHA said.
Greek military sources suggested the overflight may have been caused by mechanical problems in at least one of the planes.
