Civil aviation unions to hold three-day strike next week

The Federation of Civil Aviation Authority Unions (OSYPA), which does not include air-traffic controllers, said that its members will hold 24-hour rolling strikes on August 9, 10 and 11 in protest at the government’s decision to place 300 civil aviation workers in the public sector mobility scheme.

OSYPA accused the government of “ignoring the problems and chaos that will be created at airports at the height of the tourist season.”

OSYPA said it was striking to draw attention to the complications that could be caused. OSYPA said that it would only serve emergency flights during this time.

It was not immediately clear what effect the strike would have on domestic and international flights.
