Firefighters battle blaze in Varibobi
Firefighters, Greek army soldiers and volunteers in northern Attica on Tuesday were battling a wildfire that broke out in the area of Varibobi, near Mount Parnitha, late on Monday.
According to reports, the fire broke out on Ioannis Michas Street and quickly spread due to strong winds blowing in the area.
According to Skai sources, fire brigade officials were optimistic that the fire would come under control later on Tuesday.
One house was reportedly entirely damaged in the fire, while a number of other residences were partially damaged.
Sixty-one fire trucks, 115 firefighters and 60 soldiers were among those fighting the blaze.
A police inestigation to determine the cause of fire was under way on Tuesday.
