Teen denies he killed nephews by pushing them into irrigation canal
The 13-year-old boy who allegedly confessed to pushing his two young nephews into an irrigation channel in the Peloponnese last week was taken to a young offender institution on Tuesday despite reportedly changing his testimony and claiming he was elsewhere when the two boys died.
The teenager is originally alleged to have told police that he pushed his nephews, aged 4 and 8, because his grandfather showed them more affection. However, sources said that he now claims he was at the beach and has suggested that another family member may have been involved.
Police recovered the 13-year-old’s shirt from the scene of the boys’ deaths. The teenager now claims he left it at his grandfather’s home.
