Armed robbers hold up IKA branch in Thessaloniki
Two men managed to make off with an unspecified amount of cash after holding up the Neapoli branch of the IKA Social Security Foundation in Thessaloniki, the state-run Athens-Macedonia News Agency reported on Wednesday.
According to reports, eyewitnesses said the men were dressed in overalls and had surgical masks covering the lower half of the their faces. They threatened staff at the branch to hand over cash at gunpoint, before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
Police are looking for the perpetrators, who escaped with an unspecified amount of money.
