One of biggest ever hauls of contraband smokes seized at Piraeus

Officers of the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) and customs officials confiscated 1.86 million packets of contraband cigarettes following a raid on three containers at the port of Piraeus, authorities said on Thursday.

The haul, which is worth some 6.2 million euros in evaded customs tariffs and charges, is one of the largest ever by customs officials in Piraeus.
