Minister promises swift compensation for quake damage
Infrastructure Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis has pledged that the victims of recent earthquakes in the Fthiotida region of central Greece will be quickly compensated for property damage.
Speaking after a meeting at Kamena Vourla on Friday, the Socialist minister said a joint ministerial decision will soon be signed to accelerate procedures.
More than 300 houses have been damaged after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the region on Wednesday.
Dozens of aftershocks have followed.
Speaking at the same meeting, the director of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization, Nikitas Papadopoulos, said the tremors were not a cause for concern.
