Online fraudster sought for swindling women
Police in Thessaloniki said on Monday that they are seeking a 43-year-old man believed to have swindled more than 4,000 euros from four unsuspecting women whom he met on the social networking site Facebook.
According to police, the suspect targeted his victims individually, convincing each one to meet him before gleaning their personal details and using them to make online purchases. In some of the cases, the suspect is also alleged to have stolen small amounts of cash from the women’s purses.
The fraudster is believed to have operated the scam for three months in the summer of last year.
