Georgian cleaner, 53, charged with murder of retired banker
Police in Thessaloniki on Tuesday arrested the Georgian house cleaner of a 72-year-old pensioner who was found murdered in his apartment in the northern port’s Toumba district on Sunday.
The 53-year-old woman is alleged to have confessed to killing the retired banker who was found bound hand and foot with heavy injuries to his head. She has been charged with murder while police are continuing their investigation in search for possible accomplices.
It is thought that robbery was the likely motive behind the killing as the apartment had been rifled through, according to police sources.
