Administrative reform council reaches final decisions on mobility scheme

The council for administrative reform on Monday validated a series of decisions regarding the timeframe for the implementation of a mobility scheme for 12,500 public servants.

Talking to the press following the meeting which was headed by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and attended by government vice-president Evangelos Venizelos, among other top officials, Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis noted that besides being one of the country’s obligations vis a vis its creditors, the mobility scheme was also a tool for a “better utilization” of the public sector’s staff.

According to Mitsotakis, the government’s first mobility scheme which was concluded recently saw the transfer of 1,800 employees to key positions in the public sector.

According to reports, the lists containing the names of those expected to participate in the mobility scheme will be released by September 20.
