Greek film ‘The Cleaners’ picks up prize at Sarajevo
Konstantinos Georgousis’s film “The Cleaners,” a disquieting inside look at the racist extremism of Greece’s Golden Dawn party, has picked up the special jury prize for documentary films at the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival, reports said on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old director followed various party candidates for one month in the runup to last year’s election, in which the party received 7 percent of the vote and 18 seats in Parliament.
The award comes with a 2,500-euro check provided by Al Jazeera Balkans.
