Fishing boat goes down off Skopelos, captain dies
Coast guard officers recovered the body of the 77-year-old captain of a fishing boat that sank off the coast of the island of Skopelos in the western Aegean in the early hours of Friday.
The fishing boat was carrying another three men, aged 17 to 23, who are out of danger after being rescued by the crew of another fishing boat working in the vicinity.
Coast Guard investigators are exploring the causes of the vessel’s sinking, which the three men said occurred very suddenly and rapidly.
