Athenians get relief…
Athenians get some relief at the beach over the weekend, as temperatures hit 37C (99F) in the capital. With the mercury set to climb to 42C (108F) tomorrow, the Athens Municipality has announced that its air-conditioned Friendship Clubs (Lesches Filias) will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. as will its seven municipal clinics. People must avoid the sun and alcohol, wear light clothes, drink lots of water and eat lightly.
