Mytilini youth kills himself after crashing father’s car
A 19-year-old youth on the eastern Aegean island of Mytilini shot himself after crashing his father’s car, according to the state-run Athens-Macedonia News Agency on Sunday.
According to reports, the youth was driving to his family’s home in the village of Pigi from the military base where he was in compulsory service to attend his sister’s 14th birthday party when he crashed his father’s car under unknown circumstances.
He was not injured in the crash, but according to police went home and locked himself in his bedroom without telling his parents of the incident.
He allegedly committed suicide in his bedroom using his father’s hunting rifle several minutes later.
