Thessaloniki man charged with swindling 55,000 euros from unemployed people

A 52-year-old Thessaloniki man faced a prosecutor Wednesday on a string of fraud charges after allegedly swindling 55,000 euros from unemployed people by pretending to represent various firms looking for staff.

The suspect is said to have convinced a total of 17 people from the broader Thessaloniki area to give him varying sums of money to secure them bogus jobs.
