Crime crackdown in Peloponnese leads to arrests

A total of 112 suspects were detained, out of whom 42 were arrested, following a large-scale weekend operation in the regions of Arcadia, Corinthia and Laconia, in the Peloponnese.

Some 516 people – of which 128 are foreign citizens – and 407 vehicles were searched in an effort to curb crime in the broader region.

According to police reports those arrested were expected to face charges related to drug possession, debts to the state, intellectual property and public health violations, as well as not being in possession of legal residence papers, among other offenses.
