Polish national in Thessaloniki hospital after violent mugging
A 35-year-old Polish tourist was recovering in a Thessaloniki hospital Wednesday after being mugged and beaten by a group of six assailants who took his cell phone and some 200 euros in cash, police said.
According to the victim’s statement to the police, his attackers had been wearing masks.
The incident took place during an anti-austerity protest organized by civil servants in the city center.
