Over 1 ton of bad meat confiscated from Athens butchers
State health inspectors on Wednesday confiscated more than a ton of meat deemed unfit for human consumption following raids on a butcher’s shop in Nikaia, southwestern Athens, and a meat market in nearby Rendi.
In both cases, the retailers did not have the required operating licenses, according to sources.
The inspectors dispatched their findings to a Court of First Instance prosecutor in Piraeus, who is to decide on what penalties to impose.
