US hails Greek government’s strong position on extremism
The US administration has hailed the Greek government’s “strong position” regarding the handling of extremism, said State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki in response to questions on the subject of the recent arrests of deputies and members of ultranationalist Golden Dawn.
Psaki noted that Golden Dawn’s extremism was a cause of concern in Washington, adding that the US government condemns statements and actions which have been attributed to Golden Dawn and appear to incite xenophobia, hostility toward minorities and anti-semitism.
