Athens’s Fyli dump closes again
Attica’s main landfill in Fyli, western Athens, closed again Wednesday because of scrap collectors entering the site.
It is the second time this week that the dump has closed due to safety fears.
Attica Governor Yiannis Sgouros said he has informed authorities numerous times that security at Fyli needs to be stepped up.
The closure of the landfill has caused trash to pile up in some parts of Athens.
