Ministers join Samaras on trip to Israel

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will be joined by a number of his ministers on Monday as he travels to Jerusalem to take in a high-level Greek-Israeli ministerial council.

The group will include Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos and Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias.

During his visit, Samaras will also hold talks with Israeli President Simon Peres. A meeting with Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilos is also on the agenda.

The Greek premier will round of his visit in Tel Aviv, where he will speak at a Greek-Israeli business conference. About 100 Greek businessmen will also take part in the event.

SYRIZA and the Communist Party have expressed concern about the foreign policy implications of Greece’s improving relations with Israel.
