Golden Dawn member linked to Fyssas murder faces investigative magistrate [Update]
A Golden Dawn member was given until Monday to prepare his deposition in the case of the murder of 34-year-old rapper Pavlos Fyssas by Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias, 45, in Keratsini, southeastern Attica, on September 17.
Yiannis Kazatzoglou, 32, who faced an investigative magistrate on Wednesday, was allegedly a passenger in the vehicle driven by Roupakias on the night of the fatal stabbing outside a cafeteria. Police officers discovered Kazatzoglou’s identity card and mobile phone in Roupakias’s car.
Roupakias, who has confessed to killing Fyssas, was scheduled to face a prosecutor on Thursday. Besides facing murder charges he was also expected to face the additional charge of being a member of a criminal organization.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old being sought by police in relation to the Golden Dawn case turned himself in on Wednesday and was subsequently arrested by members of a counter-terrorism squad.
