Warning issued about stolen radioactive device
The Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE) issued an urgent warning on Thursday about a measuring device containing a radioactive compound, which was stolen from a worksite near Lamia, central Greece.
The EEAE said that the device, which contains the radioactive chemical americium, only poses a danger if it is dismantled.
The commission advised anyone who comes across the device to contact the police or the EEAE.
