Two sought by police in Crete for attack on immigrant workers

Police in Crete were on Thursday looking for two animal breeders who are suspected of beating five immigrant workers.

The suspects, a father and a son from the island’s Messara area, reportedly attacked the workers, all Pakistani nationals, after they did not show up for work on Tuesday.

Reports said the immigrants, who are demanding an unknown sum in back wages, were absent from work in order to observe a religious holiday.

All five victims were taken to a medical center in the area and are being treated for their injuries.

Police said the immigrants were living in Greece illegally and will be arrested.
