Registrations for first-year university students to begin despite industrial action

First-year students will be able to register at Greek universities as of Monday following a decision by administrative staff to allow institutions to operate on an extended skeleton staff in order for the admissions procedure to be carried out.

Meanwhile, administrative staff last week decided to continue industrial action for a seventh consecutive week in protest at the government’s plan to place more than 1,300 administrative employees in a mobility scheme which will lead to their transfer to other positions or dismissal.
