Man confesses to shooting 31-year-old in Acharnes last month

A 30-year-old Greek man has been charged with the murder of a 31-year-old Albanian in Acharnes, northern Athens, last month after he reportedly admitted to shooting the latter in the head over a financial dispute.

A 35-year-old police officer was also arrested on charges of harboring a criminal, police said without providing details.

According to police, the 30-year-old admitted to shooting the victim during a meeting at which he was supposed to give the Albanian some money from the sale of a car.

The 30-year-old subsequently wrapped the victim’s body in a bed sheet and buried him on a construction site, according to police who said the corpse was exhumed in the presence of a coroner and a prosecutor.
