Two Korydallos Prison guards injured in knife attack by inmate

Two Korydallos Prison guards were being treated in the jail’s hospital on Thursday after being stabbed by a 27-year-old Iranian inmate with a homemade knife.

The 27-year-old, an Iranian Kurd who is in custody pending trial on drug-related charges, was being questioned in connection with the assault, which occurred during a visit by his lawyer and left a senior prison guard with a chest wound and the other with leg injuries.

The injuries were not life-threatening, according to doctors at the prison hospital.
