Defense Ministry’s former procurements chief back in court over Swiss deposits
Yiannis Sbokos, the former head of procurements at the Defense Ministry during Akis Tsochatzopoulos’s leadership at the ministry, was returned to custody at Korydallos Prison on Thursday after testifying before an investigating magistrate in connection with 12 million euros in a bank account in Switzerland which judicial officials have linked to Sbokos.
The former procurements chief was sentenced to 16 years in jail earlier this month for his part in a money-laundering racket centered around Tsochatzopoulos, who was given a 20-year term.
