Police seize 61 kilos of cannabis in vehicle; driver arrested
A 26-year-old man was to face a Ioannina prosecutor in northwestern Greece after police discovered 56 parcels of cannabis weighing over 61 kilos in his vehicle over the weekend.
According to reports, the suspect and an accomplice were driving on the Ioannina-Kozani highway when they refused to stop at a traffic checkpoint and were pursued by police officers.
The two men subsequently abandoned the car and fled into the forest where the 26-year-old was later found.
The second suspect was still at large late last night.
