Police sweep Aristotle University in Thessaloniki

Five people were arrested on Wednesday following a police sweep at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.

The arrests were made on the university’s grounds and outside.

Two men aged 18 and 25 were taken into custody on suspicion of mugging passers-by. Another three suspects, aged 16, 17 and 23, were arrested for drugs possession.

Police said they entered the university grounds after complaints from academics and students regarding incidents of theft and drug dealing.
