Songwriter and radio presenter Kalamitsis dies at 74
Songwriter, dramatist and journalist Yiannis Kalamitsis is to be buried on Monday in a private funeral.
Kalamitsis died at the age of 74 on Sunday after long-term illness. During his career, he penned more than 400 songs, some of which were put to music by respected Greek composers, including Mikis Theodorakis.
However, he was more widely known for his radio programs. Kalamitsis had a popular morning show from 1990 for more than two decades, during which he worked for various stations.
