Fourteen charged in Athens over illegal hirings at KEELPNO

Fourteen people are to stand trial in connection with allegedly illegal hirings at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO).

Following questioning by magistrates in Athens on Tuesday, the 14 suspects, which include KEELPNO’s former president, board members and two employees, were granted conditional release.

They were charged with fraud, giving false statements and breach of faith, all felonies.

They are accused of bending rules to hire 140 new staff members in 2005.
