Smile of the Child charity organization celebrates 18th anniversary
Just over 300 children are currently being looked after by the charity Smile of the Child, the organization said on Thursday as it celebrated its 18th anniversary.
A total of 309 children are in care.
The charity has looked after 627 children in total since it was founded in 1995. Smile of the Chile said that in that time, it had received more than 2.3 million calls to its hotline and had issued 743 Amber Alerts for missing children.
The organization has relied on the support of some 6,500 volunteers.
