Athens University academics agree to return to work next week
The senate of Athens University, whose academics have been striking in solidarity with the institution’s administrative staff, on Tuesday decided to resume lessons from next Tuesday.
Following an emergency session, the senate decided to break the academics’ strike in view of the “anxiety of thousands of students and their families” amid fears that the action would lead to the loss of the first semester of the academic year.
Administrative staff at both Athens University and the National Technical University of Athens have been on strike for more than 10 weeks.
