Cruise ship given green light to set sail after Piraeus crash

The Panama-flagged cruise ship Magnifica, which crashed into a concrete jetty at the port of Piraeus on Wednesday, set sail for Katakolo in the Peloponnese on Thursday after experts deemed the vessel was fit to sail.

None of the 2,469 passengers or the 976-strong crew was harmed during Wednesday’s collision, which occurred after the ship was buffeted by strong winds.
