Schools in northern Greece close due to cold weather, no heating

Cold weather and low temperatures kept schools in several parts of northern Greece closed on Wednesday, as shortages in heating subsidies kept numerous facilities without heating.

Following a decision by local authorities, schools were closed in Florina, Naoussa, Drama, Kozani and Kastoria.

According to Naoussa Mayor Anastasios Karabatzos, the funds which have already been allocated for school heating were not sufficient.
